2nd Year
Projects
In my sophomore year at NDSU, my attention shifted towards honing my manual drafting abilities, while also delving into a diverse array of software applications. As the second semester unfolded, I delved into the realm of Revit and Lumion, using these tools to bring my designs to life through detailed renderings.
818 Golden Peak Estate
818 Golden peak estate is a Colorado dwelling within the golden peak estate's community, near cripple creek Colorado. The form consists of two smaller rectangles intersection through a main larger rectangle creating a pushing and pulling of the facade. The steep pitched roofs emphasize growth and unify the design. The flat roof along the remainder of the dwelling cantilevers slightly providing shade from the high summer sunlight.

SSW Boathouse
The SSW Boathouse serves as an addition to the Minneapolis rowing club. The design, inspired by the movement of rowing oars, includes angled roofs. The goal was to not only enhance the rowing community but also introduce the sport to the wider Minneapolis population. The boathouse features storage on the first floor, cutting-edge locker rooms and indoor rowing tanks on the second, and a spacious gym, restaurant, and bar on the third floor with a river view.

Museum of Modern Art - Osaka, Japan
The project aimed to contrast Osaka's modern cityscape with a welcoming ambience. Inspired by the Japanese Inyo symbol, representing harmony between opposites, the design merges traditional brick exteriors with modern glass interiors. This contrast highlights its ability to harmonize amidst diverse architectural styles in the city.

Sketching
During 2nd year I also focused on my sketching abilites. Specifically, starting to create detailed and accurate depictions of static objects using both realistic and geometric styles. Capturing textures, proportions, and perspectives in my realistic sketches, slowly began to bring the objects to life. In my geometric sketches, I emphasize clean lines, asymmetry, and meticulous measurements, resulting in visually harmonious representations. My sketches combine technical precision with artistic sensibility, showcasing the beauty of both natural and structured forms.
Bluebird Bay - birdhouse project
Inspired by Frank Gehry & the Eastern Bluebird
The birdhouse draws inspiration from Frank Gehry's work and caters to Eastern Bluebirds. It features a raised interior shelf for nesting safety, a 1.5-inch entrance to deter predators, and is built from non-toxic cedar and tin. Ventilation holes maintain comfort in varying temperatures.

The design adopts a Gehry-inspired approach, melding diverse forms and shapes into a singular, harmonious masterpiece of creativity.

In essence, this creation showcases my flexibility and openness to embracing new challenges. As a woodshop beginner, crafting a piece like this stands as a testament to my capacity to learn and adapt. Through careful planning and dedicated effort, I brought together many angled components to form a functional and imaginative work, with unique features.
